Static Google review QR codes

A table tent or receipt QR that opens your Google review flow is one of the simplest ways to collect feedback while the visit is fresh. You do not need a paid “review funnel” SaaS to get started. If you already have a stable Google Business Profile / review link, encode that URL in a static QR—no signup, no free-trial short link that can die on the counter months later.

Clarity up front: this site is a free static QR generator. It is not a Google product, not a Google partner page, and not affiliated with Google LLC. You bring a review URL you already obtained from your Business Profile; we (or any static tool) only turn that string into a barcode image.

What you are encoding

A static review QR stores an ordinary https://… link inside the image. When guests scan, their phone’s browser (or the Google app, if installed and associated) opens that link. Typical destinations include:

Because the payload is in the image, there is no vendor trial sitting between the scan and Google. Compare that with dynamic review tools that print a short URL they control—those can stop when a trial ends. Background: QR expired after free trial and QR codes that never expire.

How to get a review / profile URL (high level)

Exact Google UI labels change over time. In general:

  1. Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile.
  2. Open your profile management tools on the web or in the Google Business Profile app.
  3. Look for options to share the profile or to ask for reviews / get a review link.
  4. Copy the https link Google provides. Prefer the official link over a third-party shortener.
  5. Paste that link into a notes file and test it on a phone that is not logged in as the owner before you print.

If Google’s screens differ from memory, use Google’s own Help Center for “get a review link” / Business Profile sharing—do not invent button names from a blog.

Make a static review QR (no signup)

  1. Open the free static QR generator.
  2. Choose URL.
  3. Paste your Google review or profile link.
  4. Download PNG for receipts and social posts, or SVG for sharp table tents and window clings.
  5. Scan-test on iPhone and Android. Confirm you land where you expect—not on a vendor upgrade page.
  6. Print with quiet zone and strong contrast. Keep the ask optional and polite on the sign copy (“Scan to leave a Google review—thank you!”).

Generation is client-side: your link is not uploaded to create the code. No account is required to download.

When the project’s host cutover finishes, the same flow lives at qrstatic.app; until then, use the live generator URL above.

Best practices for shops and restaurants

One durable link. Do not mint a new dynamic short link every month. Reuse the same Google-provided URL (or a stable page you own) so you are not reprinting tents.

Pair with menu or WiFi carefully. Separate codes reduce confusion: menu → restaurant menu QR guide; guest WiFi → WiFi QR generator; reviews → this static URL code.

Do not gate the bill on a five-star ask. Encourage honest feedback. Some platforms discourage review gating; follow Google’s current policies via their Help Center.

Track results on Google, not inventing scan heatmaps. Static QRs have no built-in scan counter. Watch review volume and reply rate in your Business Profile. If you need scan analytics as a KPI, that is a reason to consider paid dynamic—not a free trial on a laminated card. See static vs dynamic.

If an old “review QR” already failed. Scan it: if a third-party domain appears, you were on a redirect. Replace with a static encode of your real Google link. Troubleshooting: why did my QR code stop working.

Wedding and event favors

Favor tags and welcome signs can use the same static pattern for a couple’s small business, food truck, or venue partner—encode the correct Profile link, keep tone gracious, and avoid implying Google sponsorship. Event stationery tips: wedding QR codes without signup.

FAQ

Is this an official Google review QR tool?

No. It is a generic static QR generator. You supply a Google link you already have. There is no Google partnership claim here.

Do Google review QR codes expire?

A static QR that encodes your review URL does not expire because a QR-generator trial ended. Google could still change link formats or Profile availability over time—retest occasionally and update prints if Google issues a new official link.

Do I need to sign up to make the QR?

No. Use the homepage static generator and download PNG or SVG without an account.

Can I edit the destination later without reprinting?

Not with a static code. Keep using the same official link, or host a tiny page you control and update that page’s button. Remote edit without reprint is a dynamic feature—budget for a paid plan if you truly need it.

Should I put a URL shortener in front of the Google link?

Usually no. Extra free shorteners add another expiration and tracking layer. Encode the official https link directly when it fits.

Will scanning require the Google app?

Browsers can open the link. If the Google app is installed, the OS may hand off. Guests without the app should still reach a web experience—verify with a clean-phone test.

Can I use the same QR on packaging and receipts?

Yes, if the link remains correct. Prefer SVG masters for any large print. Retest after Google UI changes or Business Profile migrations.
