How SMSTO works

Most camera apps recognize SMSTO:+countrycode… and open the default messaging app with the number filled in. If you add a message, it becomes the draft body. The user still taps Send.

Some older devices prefer sms: URI forms. This tool prioritizes the widely supported SMSTO format documented for QR payloads.

What is an SMS QR code?

A QR that encodes an SMSTO payload so a phone can open a new text with a number and optional prefilled body after the user confirms send.

Does this SMS QR expire?

A static SMSTO QR does not expire because of a generator trial—the payload lives in the image. Carriers and phone apps still control how SMS opens.

Is this an official carrier tool?

No. QRStatic is not affiliated with any mobile carrier. Sending may use the scanner’s plan rates.

Can I use this for marketing blasts?
